Rosemary (Rosmarinus officinalis)
Native to the Mediterranean region it is now widely grown as a culinary herb. It is a strongly aromatic shrub that grows to 2m, with many small leaves and pale to dark blue flowers.
All the herb is used for medicinal purposes. Rosemary is anti-inflammatory, a tonic, astringent, diaphoretic (promotes perspiration), stomachic (ease stomach pain), nervine (restores the nerves, mildly tranquillizing), anodyne (pain easing) and antiseptic.
