Guaiacum (Guaiacum officinale)
An evergreen tree from the Florida, West Indies and South America that grows to a height of 10m.
The medicinal parts used are the heart (inner) wood and the resin that comes from it. Guaiacum is anti-rheumatic, anti-inflammatory, diuretic, diaphoretic (promotes perspiration) and mildly laxative.
